Dr. Elsawi holds an LLB, an LLM in private law, and a PhD in settling disputes, with first-class honors and a recommendation to print the thesis and send it to universities (the highest grade on the university list). He teaches law in his capacity as a staff member at specialized universities in the UAE and the Middle East.

Dr. Elsawi focuses his practice on litigation and arbitration. He has been lead counsel on numerous UAE and international arbitrations across a variety of sectors, including construction, finance, commerce and maritime, as a parties’ counselor.

He has also served as chairman, sole arbitrator, and co-arbitrator in international and domestic arbitration cases of varying sizes and degrees of complexity, covering a broad legal spectrum that includes sales & purchases, construction, franchises, energy, business associations, insurance, and maritime disputes. Moreover, he has exceptional experience in settling disputes of construction contracts”FIDIC”, as it was his major in PhD thesis, he has also been chosen before Oman’s courts, Abu Dhabi Courts, Dubai Courts, ICC, DIAC and ADCCAC as Chairman, Sole Arbitrator in various cases.

Moreover, He has many leading publications on ADR, arbitration, FIDIC contracts, sales & purchase contracts, franchise contracts, e-commerce contracts, international sale of goods contracts, consortium & joint venture agreements, obligations, civil liabilities, anti-competitive practices, property rights, proofing, commercial agencies, and compensation.

Furthermore, Dr. Elsawi is a listed arbitrator and member of several prominent arbitration associations and professional unions, including the International Chamber of Commerce (“ICC”)، Abu Dhabi Centre (“ADCCAC”), the Dubai Center (“DIAC”), Cairo Regional Center (“CRCICA”), the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (“CIArb”), International Bar Association (“IBA”),  the International Court for Dispute Resolution  (“INCODIR”), the Society of Construction Law (“SCL”), the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (“ICCA”), the Arab lawyers union (“ALU”), and the Egyptian Bar Association (“EBA”). Moreover, he is Chairman, Board of Trustees of the International Academy for Mediation (“IAMA”).
